  • John Swanson printed the serigraph of Star Clown in 2008 in an edition of 122. Star Clown is 17.5 x 12 inches and was
printed using 31 color stencils. Joan Prefontaine writes in The Sacred Circle in the Art of John August Swanson, Here we
see a clown dressed in radiant golds and reds who holds up the sun and moon in the night sky, as light from the starry
universe shines down on him. He is a channel of energy from the divine but also connected to night and darkness.
He understands human suffering. He is not simply an entertainer but encourages us to confront our most deeply felt
anxieties and inhibitions: our fear of being laughed at, of taking risks, and trying new things. He has the potential to
be a true healer, blessed with a radiant vitality from above. John August Swanson s serigraph of the Star Clown is available for sale in the Eyekons Gallery at www.eyekons.com. Eyekons is a resource for contemporary Christian art that explores religion, spirituality and social justice.
