Psalm 24:7-10
Lift up your heads, O gates! and be lifted up,
O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O gates! and be lifted up
O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah
"There is a huge, dynamic spaciousness in this work.
The old gates are lifted up out of their buttresses for the Almighty King,
Lord of the Heavenly Armies, to enter. A radiant three-pointed crown
represents this King. The bright shape of the crown goins up with
its lighter reflection to form a star - a reminder that this King is also
the New Testament King Jesus, the "star" of Bethlehem. In my work,
blue is the colour of faithfulness. The vivid, deep-blue background behind
the gates reminds us of God's unfailing commitment to his promises."
